My 6 step makeup routine for anyday

If you are someone like me who does not experiment a lot with her makeup and is always on lookout for products that can be very easily worn from day to night yet look natural then grab a snack, this post is for you!

I know its been quite a while since I put up the last blog post. I just haven’t been feeling upto it and moreover this post took over 15 revisions which is a lot because all other posts hardly take 5 revisions. To be honest I am pretty nervous to put up this not and I am not even sure why! Mentioned in the post are the products that I completely trust since they don’t budge the entire day and the look can be glammed up in additional two steps making you festival ready.

Step1:

Moisturising and Priming: I cannot stress on the importance of this step. If you want your makeup to last longer and look more natural, you must have a smooth canvas. Current favourite moisturiser has to be the Clinique Moisture Surge and for primer it’s the Maybelline Face Studio Master Prime. It has a slight sticky feel to it which holds my makeup better.

Step2:

Base: The base can either are or break your entire look. I use foundation on very rare occasions and haven’t experimented with many. My full faith is in my Milani conceal and correct.

I can always skip using the foundation but not the corrector and concealer. LA Girl’s orange corrector does wonders to my under eye. My current favourite concealer has to be a mix of the Bobbi Brown creamy concealer kit and the LA Girl Pro conceal HD. Setting your makeup is as important as blending it in. I like to set my under eye and smile lines with a loose banana powder by LA Girl and the rest of face and neck with MAC Studio fix.

Step3:

Cheeks and Cheekbones: While concealing, you tend to dull the natural colour of your cheeks. So to add the colour back, I prefer using a coral toned blush by 3ina.

Defining cheekbones adds a lot to the overall look. I have been using Bobbi Brown Bronzer from past few months and the result is amazing! This gives my face such a natural bronzed look and it easy to blend too! Since I am not a highlight person I tend to use any champagne shade eyeshadow if ever required.

Step4:

Eyes: I am not someone who uses eyeshadow on a daily basis. Infact, I have recently started loving some smudged brown eye liner. But if I have to use eyeshadow, then the one I trust the most is the NYX Ultimate Shadow Palette. This palette has a perfect mix of warm shades which can be worn for everyday or can be easily glammed up for the festive season.

Being the lazy person I am, wearing winged or black eye liner is out of the question. I makeup for it with a few quotes of mascara. Also is it just me or do other girls mix two mascara as well? Favourite combination has to be the Too faced Better Than Sex Mascara with the Lo’real Lash Paradise Mascara.

Last and a very important thing, eyebrows. I prefer pomade kind of things over powder anyday. Some of my favourite eyebrow pomade are Sleek Eyebrow Kit, MAC Eyebrow Pomade and the Benefit Ka-Brow.

Step5:

Lips: Just like priming your face, it is important to prime your lips as well. Before using any lip pencil or lipstick I make sure to go over my lips with the lip primer by colourpop. I have always been a nude lips kinda person. On very rare occasions will you find me wearing any other colour. My favourite nude lip combination has to be MAC Lip Pencil and Lipstick in Whirl or the Colourpop Liquid Lipstick in Frick n’ Frack.

Step6:

Setting Spray: Do not I repeat do not leave your house without setting your makeup. Setting you makeup helps in making it last longer and also takes the powder-y look away. Some of the sprays that I have used are by MAC, NYX, Colorpop. Out of these, the NYX makeup setting spray in dewy finish is my most used one.

So that was all for this post, I know it was suppeerrr long but hope you all enjoyed it.
