Favourite Editing Apps for Instagram

The year is coming to an end. I know this isn’t some breaking news but take a moment to let it sink in. This year was full of highs and lows for me, but this post isn’t about that. This post is about the favourite editing apps on my phone. And the best part is all of these are free! I am not some hot shot pro editor but I do know a couple of things and apps which might help you too.

Editing can either make or break your picture. It has taken me quite a while to find my niche but I’m very happy with the results. I never really have the time or patience to just sit for an hour or half just to edit one picture. A quick edit is much more preferable since it takes less time and even too much editing can ruin the picture. So below are a few apps which are helpful while editing on the go.

  • Snapseed: Okay, this app has many features but the ones I specifically use are Expand and Perspective. Perspective helps to tilt the image in any direction which changes the entire look of the image while expand is basically to increase the height and width of the image.

  • VSCO: This needs no introduction. VSCO is one of the most popular editing apps. I can never upload a picture on Instagram without a filter by VSCO. But since they have a huge array of filters, I’d recommend to first do a series of trial editing with several filters before finalising on one.

  • Facetune2: If you are a flatly fanatic like me, this app is meant for you. I use the whiten feature to make the white background look more cleaner and sometimes even on some random background to add a touch of brightness.

  • Lomograph: This is a recent discovery and its so far so good. It consists of different filters and add an overall edge to the image. I am not really able to explain this so check the image below.

  • Instagram: And last but not the least. Basis edits like brightness, saturation, shadows etc. are done on Instagram only. If I’m looking for something more detailed then its Snapped but those are very rare incidents.

So that is it for this post hope you find these apps useful!
