Makeup holygrails!

Hi guys, how have you all been? I hurt my back 2 days ago and was on bed rest till yesterday but now I have been doing kinda okay. So for this post I am gonna be sharing my makeup holy grail. These are the products that I cannot live without. To be very honest, I don’t apply much makeup on a day to day basis but I do experiment with my look sometimes. Here, I have included a single product from every category. From corrector to mascara to tools everything! All these are the products are ones which I swear by and reach out to whenever I am in a hurry! (always)

Also, let’s get one thing straight. I am a regular college girl who in no way is claiming to be a beauty expert and neither am I forcing my opinion on anyone. These are just my favorites and my opinion about a product can be different than yours. No need to make an issue out of it. So now that being said, I have bifurcated the products into 5 categories so that it can be easier for me to state my opinion/review  and it is much easier for you guys to understand this.

Base:

I am someone who will always choose flawless base with minimal eyes and lips. People generally start by applying primer first, but I don’t wear much makeup on a daily basis so I skip primer. Having said that, I do apply primer if I know it’s gonna be a long day or I am going out for a party or something like that. My favorite primer has got to be the Maybelline Baby Skin primer, it is a silicone primer which leaves my skin feeling so soft and baby like! It creates the perfect canvas for my makeup. Now I have severe dark circles and slight pigmentation around my mouth.I started color correcting only a few months ago and Oh my God! I feel like now I cannot not color correct before concealing. I would highly recommend the Kryolan Derma Color Camouflage Creme corrector. I got mine from beautiful here in Mumbai. It is affordable, and this small tub, looks like is gonna last me to eternity! Not kidding. I have been using this everyday for the past 6 months and I have only created a small dent.

Now like I said, I don’t wear a lot of makeup everyday, so for those days when I need to look extra pretty, I only reach for the Kryolan Derma Color Camouflage Creme. I have been loving this! Generally cream based products are difficult to blend but this one blends like a dream. I either use a buffing brush or a blending sponge for this and they get the job done easily. Next up we have concealer. I am a concealer hoarder! Picking one was not an easy job. But I went with the L’oreal True Match concealer. I feel it provides a medium coverage and is very blendable. I am in the shade n4-5. Now to set all this I swear by the MAC Studio Finish compact powder. I really don’t think I need to explain my love for this.

Am I only one who loves contouring more than highlight? I don’t know I just really like defining my face. If you have watched my Feelunique post (click here) you would already know about the Sleek Contour Kit. It is hands down the best. I use the shade medium. It is just so pigmented and super blendable. I am so surprised I haven’t hit the pan yet! It is the only one I use and am already planning to buy a backup. I am not very fussy about highlight and either use the one in the sleek kit or the Benefit High Beam. It is a liquid highlighter. It looks so natural, it’s like I am glowing within. I cannot leave my house without some blush. I have tried quite a few blushes but I always come back to my Maybelline Cheeky Glow in creamy cinnamon. It is just a perfect nudy everyday  blush. To keep everything in place NYX Setting Spray is the pick for me. It just does it’s job very well.

EYES:

Unlike most people, I don’t prefer wearing a liner because, you know, my laziness knows no bounds! Well JK, I find it a bit of a hassle. Instead I love wearing kajal, since its super easy and convenient. The Plum Nature Studio Kajal is my current favorite. It is very smooth and very pigmented. Won’t lie, the staying power is only about 4-6 hours but works for me. My eyeshadow skills suck. Not kidding. But I am good at doing a smokey eye! I don’t know if that made any sense but yeah. I would highly recommend the Colorbar’s Just Smokey eye pencil in black. It just makes your job so easy and it has a great staying power. For my eyebrows, I have been using the MAC Fluidline Brow Gelcreme in deep dark brunette for about a year now and I still cannot believe how amazing the product is. Once I have made my eyebrows I don’t need to worry about them all day long.

Lemme be honest, until a few months ago, I never really understood the hype for mascaras. They did nothing for me. Turns out I was applying them the wrong way! And now I really cannot do without a mascara. And my ultimate favorite, the one I know I can never go worrying with is the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara. It is so volumnizing and lengthening at the same time. It is just magic in a bottle.

LIPS:

I only have a favorite lip pencil. That is Beet by MAC. I really cannot live without that. So I don’t have any favorite lipsticks I just have a favorite color tone based on the time of the year and my mood. I have been digging nudes and nudy pinks lately.

Thus, MAC captive, Colorpop Lippie Stix in cami and NYX Lip Suede in soft spoken.

TOOLS:

You definitely need some brushes or a makeup sponge to blend your makeup. One can use their fingers to blend, but I prefer brushes. I swear by the Real Techniques brushes for my base. They are really soft, fluffy synthetic brushes and are not even that expensive. My must haves are their powder brush, buffing brush, blush brush, setting brush and the multi-purpose which I use for contour and highlight. Also, I have to have a spoolie wand and angles brush for my brows and mascara. These are by Pro-arte. I always used to see bloggers rave about the makeup sponge but I thought it will be useless. But now that I do have one by PAC, I cannot emphasize on my love for it. Straight up it is a must have!

CLEANSER/ REMOVER:

I know I have mentioned this quite sometimes on my blog but I swear by the Garnier Miceller water. It removes all my makeup within seconds without causing any irritation and There is no need to rinse your face afterwards.

So that is all for this post. These are all the products I swear by hope you like it!
