FAILPROOF METHOD TO CLEAN MAKEUP BRUSHES.

image-4

Hi everyone, how are you all doing? My internship got over a couple days back, so now I finally have time to put up this post. I have been wanting to put this post up for a while now but the images were not of good quality. So I had to shoot it again.

Now I know we are supposed to clean makeup brushes once every week but I wash them once in 2 weeks. I do use my brushes a lot but I don’t feel the need. You should wash them as and when you feel. This method can also be called as a dupe for the Sigma brush cleaner thingy (I don’t know the name but I have seen people claim that removes all the makeup from your brushes.

What I love the most about my way is that it removes all makeup without creating a mess, you don’t need to get your hands dirty and it is so quick! So we all have hot water bags at our house, the texture of that is perfect to clean your brushes. Plus it is made of rubber/silicon hence makeup would not stick to the bag, which makes cleaning the bag later very easy.

WHAT ALL WE NEED:

  • Hot water bag
  • Rose water
  • Baby oil
  • Baby shampoo
  • Towel

To begin with, clean the dirty brushes under warm running water for about 10 seconds. Lay the water bag on a flat surface and pour rose water, shampoo and small drops of oil on it. Now just pickup your brush and swirl it in the bag. Within seconds the makeup will start coming off. Wash them under running warm water and keep aside.

To dry them, fold 1/3 of the towel and then fold that 1/3 in half again. This will give an elevated slope. Lay your brushes on top and let them dry overnight.

LEFT BRUSH : AFTER CLEANING; RIGHT BRUSH: BEFORE (in all the pictures, the washed brushes were wet hence out of shape. I promise if you follow all step they will be as good as new)

Make sure you don’t press the brushes hard on the bag or they make become too oily to use once they dry or loose their shape.

Why opt for a pricier option when you can get the same result with household alternative?

Hope you enjoyed the post.
