Hi guys, how are you all doing? As I had mentioned in my earlier post, I had gone to Indore for my sisters wedding. It was so good! Had a great time.

We all love scented candle. It just smells so good and calms you down. And guess what? It is so easy to make at home. So for this post I made an orange scented candle, apple scented and vanilla candle.

YOU WILL NEED:

  • Wax flakes
  • Candle wick
  • Colored wax crayons
  • Essential oil
  • Chopsticks/ satay sticks

METHOD:

  • In a double boiler heat a few inches of water..
  • Add the wax flakes and stir occasionally.
  • Once the wax is almost melted add you color
  • Now take it off the heat and add essential oil.
  • Mix it well and pour into your jar/ glass/ mold.
  • Add the candle wick in centre and to keep it in place until wax cools, secure it with satay sticks.
  • Once completely cooled, you have your own scented candle..

TIPS:

  • To add perfect quantity of wax flakes, take double quantity of wax to your jar. That is to make one jar of scented candle, take two jars of wax flakes, i.e. 1:2
  • Add small quantity of color. The color will look very vibrant, but once it cools, it will change.
  • After adding color, take one drop of wax on the slab and let it cool. This will tell you how will the candle exactly look after cooling.
  • Make sure your jar/ glass are thick or else they might break.
  • Keep the chopsticks on the rim of jar and the candlewick tightly in between them. This will prevent it from falling in wax.
  • Slowly add essential oil and again take a drop on platform and let it cool. Then you will realize how it actually smells.
  • Best is to let it cool overnight at room temperature.
