Whimsy in Walt Disney World

I have grown up watching Disney! So my trip to Orlando wasn’t even up for debate. Growing up with two sisters, the only time we didn’t fight over the remote was when it was time for Disney shows or movies.

“It is truly the happiest place on earth!”

Visiting Disney World is seriously a dream come true. I spent a total of three days in the parks which was just about perfect as I managed to cover all of them without getting tired of it or even over exerting myself. The entire Disney Park is so beautiful, it felt like I was in some Disney Movie just playing my part.

Apart from the rides there is a lot more to experience, some of the best are listed below:

  • Cover all four parks: I think this is very obvious but some people decide not to cover a park because the rides don’t seem interesting, or maybe because they want to spend more time in the other park. Don’t do that! Every park has its own charm, theme, characters and rides which you will enjoy.

  • Meet your Favorite Characters: I used to have these weird dreams as a kid of being in a cartoon show with looney toons and my other favorite Disney characters. You can only imagine the joy when I met one of my favorite character in person, hugged him and even got the classic Donald laugh!

  • Visit Disney Springs: Also known as Old Town, Disney Springs consists to shops, eateries, cafes and bars. Perfect place to spend the evening if you are too tired of the park but not tired of Disney.

  • Join the Pin Trading: There are shops at almost every corner selling jacket pins. Purchase the ones you like and you can then exchange them with any cast member wearing a lanyard for another pin. Found this to be quite a unique yet fun activity.

  • Enjoy the fireworks: Did you know Disney is the largest consumer of fireworks in the world. The fireworks show is a MUST watch and should not be skipped at any cost. It takes place in the Magic Kingdom, make sure you reach before time if you want a good spot as it gets very crowded.

  • Witness the Parade: You know you are in for a treat when the about 5000 people move to the sidewalk from the streets to make way for the parade. With singers, dancers, pom-poms and all your favorite characters the parade goes around the entire Magic Kingdom making everyone have a good time.

  • Try the snacks: The parks have some of the best snacks I’ve ever had. If you’re someone like me who prefers a snack over a sit down meal then your taste buds are in for a treat. Their cake pops and ice cream sandwich have got to be my favorite.

  • Stock up on souvenirs: I went crazy in the stores. There was just so much Disney! From accessories to jewelry to stuffed toys to coffee and what not. But everything costs a pretty penny. If you can only buy one thing then go for the Mickey/ Minnie headband. For me it’s a prized possession.

“All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.”- Walt Disney

So that’s all for this post! Hope I did inspire you to visit Disney if you haven’t yet.
