Favourite coffee spots in Mumbai

My affair with coffee is no news. I love visiting different coffee spots in the city and here today I’m sharing my most loved spots with you. Contrary to peoples assumption about me, I don’t drink coffee everyday but more like once in two days. Though I prefer hot coffee, given the current Mumbai weather I tend to get myself iced coffee.

So just grab yourself a cup of coffee (pun intended) and keep scrolling!

“For me it isn’t just about the cup of coffee but the vibe, atmosphere and the tone the place sets”

Getting the latte right is an art

The Allis, Soho House: Ever visited a coffee place expecting a generic cup of coffee but been blissfully blown away and ended up wanting to order another cup? That is exactly what my experience was like. Love their coffee, food and the interiors (this is pretty obvious). This is a pretty good spot to work from as well incase you like me sometimes need a change of scenery to get creative.

Birdsong Cafe, Bandra West: Hidden in the quaint lanes of Hill Road, Birdsong offers some delicious iced coffee. Like I said, I’m leaning more towards iced coffee this season and its good to know that they have got me sorted with a glass of well brewed coffee. They also offer a variety of vegan friendly dishes which makes the lactose intolerant me very happy.

Cortado for me, Mocha for him

Blue Tokai, multiple outlets: Nothing has made happier than a cup of perfect coffee. And when I say perfect I mean a strong but not over powering, milky but in limits, dark roasted but not almost burned cup of coffee. My personal favourite is a Cortado. It just hits the right notes. Just find your perfect spot, order yourself a coffee and bagel, get your laptop/book out or maybe just enjoy some ‘me’ time.

Le15 cafe, Colaba: Walking down the old streets of Colaba soaking in the old city charm and enjoying a good cup of espresso. This sums up a perfect weekend morning. Not difficult to locate, Le15 serves some amazing food and coffee. You cannot leave this place without taking some macarons only to be devoured later. Also, I’d highly recommend trying out the avocado croissant. It’s the best I’ve had.

Famous waffles at KalaGhoda Cafe

KalaGhoda Cafe, Fort: You might’ve figured this out by now, but for me it isn’t just about the cup of coffee but the vibe, atmosphere and the tone the place sets. This is my forever favourite place in the city. Did you know this cafe was established somewhere in the early 20th century and still has the vibe? My forever order is of a latte, dark chocolate waffles and a sandwich. I cannot stress on how strongly I recommend to visit this place atleast once.

Le Pain Quotidien, Powai: Next up we have my favourite breakfast spot in the city serving some delicious coffee and breakfast. Not just coffee, but their food is pretty amazing too. Its the perfect place to catchup with friends on a weekend morning/afternoon.

So I hope you guys enjoyed this post and the coffee!

  1. Long time reader, first time commenter — so, thought I’d drop a comment..
    — and at the same time ask for a favor.

Your wordpress site is very simplistic – hope you don’t mind me asking what theme
you’re using? (and don’t mind if I steal it?
    :P)

I just launched my small businesses site –also built in wordpress like yours– but
the theme slows (!) the site down quite a bit.

In case you have a minute, you can find it by searching for “royal cbd” on Google (would appreciate any feedback)

Keep up the good work– and take care of yourself during the coronavirus scare!

I truly do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are wasted simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or tips? Kudos!|
